Every trend has a birth certificate, and most of them are forged. The haircut that was cringe until it was editorial. The workwear that was a punchline until it was a runway. The culture that was too much until it was sold back to the masses under a different name, at a markup, with the credit filed off.
Lesbians have been the front-runners of fashion, culture, and media all along. Not adjacent to it. Not influenced by it. Ahead of it — doing the work years before the work was fashionable, and watching it get repackaged the moment it was.
Lesbian Chic exists to keep the receipts. Fashion editorial, culture, history, media, and bodies — documented the way Vogue documents a season, except we start at the source.
It's print because print is permanent. It's print-only because what's ours should be held, not scrolled. There is no digital edition and there never will be. The magazine lives on paper, on coffee tables, in archives, and in the hands it gets passed to.
And yes — some of it is undressed. Classy, intentional, art-directed. That lineage is ours too, and we're not apologizing for it.
